Contrast is a revolutionary paint from Citadel Colour that makes beautiful painting simple and fast. Each Contrast paint, when applied over a light Contrast undercoat, gives you a vivid base and realistic shading all in a single application.

Iyanden Yellow brings a vibrant yellow to the Contrast range — yellow and white are traditionally among the hardest colours in miniature painting, due to poor coverage and easily revealed surface imperfections. Contrast paints solve this problem, delivering these difficult colours in a single coat with built-in shading. Contrast paints need to be applied over an undercoat of either Wraithbone Spray or Grey Seer Spray — Wraithbone gives a warmer final tone, Grey Seer a cooler one. The paint is designed to create contrast, so it will naturally settle darker in recesses, helping details stand out. For very precise edge highlights requiring consistent brightness across the surface, traditional Layer paints work better. It's also not recommended for zenithal priming techniques, as the pigment is strong enough to obscure the subtle white effects achieved with that method.
