Citadel Base Mephiston Red is an acrylic base paint designed for basecoating Warhammer miniatures. Its high pigment count gives solid, matte coverage in a single layer over a black or white undercoat, without the need for multiple coats.

The paint is suitable for plastic, metal, and resin models, and can be applied with a brush or airbrush. The warm, mustard-yellow Mephiston Red shade is one of the most popular base colours in the Warhammer universe, commonly used for armour plates and details on schemes such as Ultramarines or Imperial Fists.

Citadel Base paints are fully compatible with the rest of the Citadel Colour range (Layer, Shade, Dry, Contrast, Edge), allowing a full painting workflow from basecoat through shading to highlights and fine detail.
